  • Brookdale Park Brookdale Park Upper Parking Lot Essex County, NJ (map)

LEARN TO IDENTIFY NATIVE TREES IN EARLY SPRING!

Celebrate the first days of spring by joining naturalist Ginger Van Ryzin in the first outdoor event of 2023 for the Native Plant Society of New Jersey! You will learn how to identify native trees before they leaf out by examining tree shape, branching pattern, bark, nuts, and buds. They will provide a handout so that you can take your learning home with you!

Ginger Van Ryzin is the Programming and GIS Associate at Great Swamp Watershed Association, where she assists in environmental education programs and stewardship of the Conservation Management Area.

Meet: Parking lot above stadium, enter Brookdale Park from Bellevue Avenue, follow West Circuit Drive to first parking lot on left. Previously scheduled for 3/25, due to rain this has been rescheduled for 3/26 10am-11:30am.

The walk will be about 1 mile, mostly on paved walkways.

No need to register or RSVP
