Join Conservancy volunteers as we attempt to curb the spread of invasive plant species in one of the most at risk areas of Brookdale Park. Whether it is because you have a sense of duty to protect the park or just need a way to work out stress, you can make a tremendous difference by coming out, cutting back and digging in with fellow park volunteers.
Bring: Hand saws, hand pruners, lopers, work shoes and work/garden gloves.
Place: We'll be meeting along the top of the former pond's rock wall in the center of the park (east of the Overlook, south of the playground).
Rest assured, we will have a number of horticulturally knowledgable volunteers on site to identify all plant species that we are working around to ensure that we do not harm or remove any that are considered beneficial to the park landscape or wildlife. For more information on the serious issue of invasive plant species in our state, please visit NJ Invasive Species Strike Team's website.
Rain date will be Saturday, April 5.
